National Accounts Main Aggregates Database

The National Accounts Main Aggregates Database presents a series of analytical national accounts tables from 1970 onwards for more than 200 countries and areas of the world. It is the product of a global cooperation effort between the Economic Statistics Branch of the United Nations Statistics Division, international statistical agencies and the national statistical services of these countries and is developed in accordance with the recommendation of the Statistical Commission at its first session in 1947 that the Statistics Division should publish regularly the most recent available data on national accounts for as many countries and areas as possible. The database is updated in December of each year with newly available national accounts data for all countries and areas.

The Government is releasing public data to become more transparent and foster innovation. Some of this data was available before, but data.gov.uk brings it together in one searchable website. Making this data easily available means it will be easier for people to make decisions and suggestions about government policies based on detailed information.

Open Data portal of the Russian Federation

Open Data portal of the Russian Federation – is one of the key instruments of state policy in the field of open data, which plays the role of a backbone element, the core of open data ecosystem of the Russian Federation. Here, the most relevant information focused on open government data, links and published datasets as well as metadata, information created on the basis of open data software products and information services. Here are published normative legal acts determining the legal basis for the disclosure of information, methodical and journalistic resources. It also implemented communication interfaces for interaction with public authorities, in their capacity as owners of socially important information.

OECD Data

Inter-Government Organisations

The World Legal Information Institute (WorldLII) is a free, independent and non-profit global legal research facility developed collaboratively by the following Legal Information Institutes and other organisations. WorldLII also includes as part of this searchable collection its own databases not found on other LIIs. These include databases of decisions of international Courts and Tribunals, databases from a number of Asian countries, and databases from South Africa (provided by Wits Law School).

World Public Opinion

WorldPublicOpinion.org is an international collaborative project whose aim is to give voice to public opinion around the world on international issues. As the world becomes increasingly integrated, problems have become increasingly global, pointing to a greater need for understanding between nations and for elucidating global norms. With the growth of democracy in the world, public opinion has come to play a greater role in the foreign policy process. WorldPublicOpinion.org seeks to reveal the values and views of publics in specific nations around the world as well as global patterns of world public opinion.

Commodity Trade Statistics Database (COMTRADE)

UN Comtrade is a repository of official trade statistics and relevant analytical tables. It contains annual trade statistics starting from 1962 and monthly trade statistics since 2010. Free access to detailed global trade data (with download limit of 50,000 records per data query; no limitation on number of data queries). Premium service (personalization feature, bulk download of millions of records / data streaming via web services, and special professional assistance) is available for a fee.

United Nations : Databases

The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) launched a new internet based data service for the global user community. It brings UN statistical databases within easy reach of users through a single entry point (http://data.un.org/). Users can now search and download a variety of statistical resources of the UN system.

Eurostat

Eurostat is the statistical office of the European Union situated in Luxembourg. It Provides Information About the European Union with statistics at European level that enable comparisons between countries and regions is a key task. Democratic societies do not function properly without a solid basis of reliable and objective statistics.

RAND Corporation  
Begun in 1946 as a research project (Project Rand) backed by a single client (the U.S. Army Air Forces), in 1948, RAND became an independent, nonprofit research institution committed to exploring society’s most complex and consequential problems. Committed to critical issues of particular relevance to the public policy debate, RAND’s core research areas are: Children and Families; Education and the Arts; Energy and Environment; Health and Health Care; Infrastructure and Transportation; International Affairs; Law and Business; National Security; Population and Aging; Public Safety; Science and Technology; Terrorism and Homeland Security. Roughly 95 percent of RAND research is unclassified and publicly available through free downloads.

National Bureau of Statistics from the Federal Republic of Nigeria  
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) came into being with the merger of the Federal Office of Statistics (FOS) and the National Data Bank (NDB). The creation was part of the implementation of the Statistical Master Plan (SMP), a programme document of the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN). The merger was to give the agency a national outlook as the apex statistical agency for all the three tiers of Government. NBS is expected to coordinate Statistical Operations of the National Statistical System in the production of Official Statistics in all the Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), State Statistical Agencies (SSAs) and Local Government Councils (LGCs).

Hansard   
Hansard is an edited record of what was said in the United Kingdom Parliament. It also includes votes, written ministerial statements and written answers to parliamentary questions. The report is published daily covering the preceding day, and is followed by weekly and final versions. Members’ words are recorded by Hansard reporters and then edited to remove repetitions and obvious mistakes but without taking away from the meaning.

GENESIS-Online is the main database of the Federal Statistical Office. It contains a wide range of issues professionally deeply indented results of official statistics. The parliamentary level is the joint information system of the state parliaments of the Federal Republic of Germany. The integrated system Parlamentsspiegel.de provides extensive search functions and allows direct access to the searched documents.

Australian Social Science Data Archive  
The ADA is comprised of seven sub-archives – Social Science, HIstorical, Indigenous, Longitudinal, Qualitative, Crime & Justice and International. The archive is managed by the ADA central office based in the ANU Centre for Social Research and Methods at the Australian National University (ANU).

Center for International Collections Databank  
The Ohio University Libraries Center for International Collections Databank includes the following fully searchable resources: a) Berita Database – Publications on Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei; b) Database for Overseas Chinese Newspapers and Journals; c) Distribution of the Ethnic Chinese Population around the World; d) Films Database; e) Database for Publications on Overseas Chinese; f) Database on Scholars and LIbrarians in Chinese Overseas Studies; g) Davis K. National Library of Australia’s database   
AJOL is the National Library of Australia’s database of Australian electronic journals, newspapers, magazines, webzines, newsletters and e-mail fanzines. The searchable database provides details and links to over 2000 titles that include local and overseas works with Australian content, authorship and/or emphasis as well as entries for sites which advertise or promote Australian journals.

UK Government Web Archive  
The National Archives is preserving UK government information published on the web. We collect and secure the future of the government record, from Shakespeare’s will to tweets from Downing Street, to preserve it for generations to come, making it as accessible and available as possible.

Background Notes (U.S. State Department reports)  
Background Notes include facts about the land, people, history, government, political conditions, economy, and foreign relations of independent states, some dependencies, and areas of special sovereignty. Background Notes are updated/revised by the Office of Electronic Information and Publications of the Bureau of Public Affairs as they are received from the Department’s regional bureaus.

Switzerland  
opendata.swiss is the Swiss authorities’ portal for open – i.e. freely available – data. It is part of the Federal Council’s Open Government Data Strategy for Switzerland 2014-2018. The Confederation, cantons and communes as well as other organisations with a mandate from the state publish their open data on opendata.swiss. The portal brings together a wide range of datasets such as Swiss communal boundaries, population statistics, current weather data, historical documents and health insurance premiums. All the datasets can be downloaded free of charge and exploited. They are also subject to uniform terms of use.

South Africa   
Statistics South Africa’s (Stats SA) has collaborated with the Office of the Premier in the Kwa-Zulu Natal province to celebrate twenty years of census taking under a democratic dispensation.

Singapore Government Data  
Data.gov.sg was first launched in 2011 as the government’s one-stop portal to its publicly-available datasets from 70 public agencies. To date, more than 100 apps have been created using the government’s open data.

Romania 
Through the Government Programme 2013-2016 , the Romanian government undertook the establishment of the direct coordination of the Prime Minister’s Department Online Services and Design . Among other things, the Department has the task of leading the work on open data ( open data ), empowering citizens to identify, downloading and using public data sets generated or held by the public. Founded on principles of transparency, participation and collaboration, portal aims undertaken similar models in the United States and the United Kingdom .

Portugal – Pordata organization  
Portugal database analysed in 1240 indicators divided into 17 themes. Municipalities database analysed in 661 indicators divided into 14 themes.

New Zealand  
Statistics New Zealand’s purpose is to empower decisions by adding value to New Zealand’s most important data. Our goal is to increase the value of data to decision-makers 10-fold in the next 15 years. This will require focused and coordinated effort across the data ecosystem.

Netherlands 
Data.overheid.nl provides an overview of all available datasets within the Dutch government. The data portal refers to the site and / or the organizations and contacts behind a dataset. The feature is completed by: the data register [ data ] and synchronization functions with data sources from government organizations.

Moldova  
Open data are data provided by the public authorities in a machine readable format and available for reuse. These data contain no personal information, trade or state secrets. The public authorities are responsible for the identification and publication of data of great interest to citizens and enterprises.

Japan   
The Portal Site of Official Statistics of Japan, e-Stat (the “Site”), launched on 1st April 2008, delivers the one-stop service for official statistics of the Japanese government, which is pursuant to “the Optimization Plan of Business Processes and Systems of Statistical Surveys and related work” (Ministries CIO Council decision, 31 March 2006). Under the Optimization Plan, which is promoted by the Statistics Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications with collaboration of Ministries and Agencies, the Site aims to gather information from statistical departments of Ministries and Agencies, and provides general public with statistical data, schedule of release, etc.

Ireland’s Open Data Portal  
Data.gov.ie is intended to provide easy access to datasets that are free to use, reuse, and redistribute. The portal is operated by the Government Reform Unit (link is external) of the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform (link is external).

Indonesian Data Portal  
data.go.id is the official portal of data open Indonesia as a form of operationalization of the initiative One Data. This portal contains data ministries, government agencies, local government, and all other agencies concerned which produces data related to Indonesia.

Open Government Data (OGD) Platform India  
Open Government Data (OGD) Platform India – data.gov.in – is a platform for supporting Open Data initiative of Government of India. The portal is intended to be used by Government of India Ministries/ Departments their organizations to publish datasets, documents, services, tools and applications collected by them for public use. It intends to increase transparency in the functioning of Government and also open avenues for many more innovative uses of Government Data to give different perspective.

Hong Kong, China   
This is the public sector information portal of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The datasets are provided by different government departments and public / private organisations. The portal is maintained by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer.

Greece  
The data.gov.gr is the central catalog of public data that provides access to the databases of bodies of Greek government. The purpose of data.gov.gr is to increase access to high value, machine readable datasets (datasets) to provide uniform service cataloging, indexing, data storage, and search and availability of public sector information, and web services to citizens and third information systems.

Glasgow, Scotland, UK

Germany  
From now on, the Federal Statistical Office is operating GENESIS-Online as a bilingual database offering an extensive range of data from all statistical subject areas. An exception to this are the Commodity Classification for Foreign Trade Statistics and the Product Classification for Production Statistics. These two classifications will successively go online in English at a later time.

France   
What data are published on “data.gouv.fr”? Antwerp, Belgium 
The city of Antwerp since November 2012 proposes a number of lists of data or data sets freely available to everyone. As several dozen data sets are already visible. Anyone may use this information as required and publish without restrictions, for example the field of copyright and patents.
