Worldwide International Library catalogs

A library catalogue is a register of all bibliographic items found in a library or group of libraries, such as a network of libraries at several locations. Note Special collections may not fit this profile; For Specific inquiries you may have to contact the library directly. Sometimes research requires personal negotiations.

DiVA – Academic Archive On (DIVA-Portal)

DiVA – Academic Archive On – line, is a publishing system for research and student theses and a digital archive for long – term preservation of publications. DiVA began its development in the year 2000 at the EPC at Uppsala University Library. Today the technical development is driven by the EPC in co-operation with the participating universities and colleges. All universities and publicly financed research institutions both in Sweden and abroad are welcome to join DiVA in its co-operative effort.

The Max Planck virtual Library (vLib)

The Max Planck virtual Library (vLib) is a portal to scientific information resources available to staff and guests of the Max Planck Society. It presently includes nearly all Max Planck library catalogs and licensed reference databases as well as numerous external catalogs, databases, reference works, e-print servers, etc. Further resources are being added continuously.

The SWB Online Catalog – National Licenses

The SWB Online Catalog – National Licenses shows the collections of monographs acquired by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. Thus these digital media are available for the supraregional literature supply. The access to the full electronic text is possible from each of the titles listed in this database, provided that access rights for the respective user are available. The GBV is the cataloguing and service-oriented network of scientific, research and public libraries. The head office of the GBV (VZG) is responsible for library automation and the development of new innovative library specific services.

GBV-Catalog: National licenses / Collections Journals

The Gemeinsamer Bibliotheksverbund (GBV) is the common library network of the seven German federal states Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, Thuringia and the Foundation of Prussian Cultural Heritage. The GBV head office is situated in Göttingen.

Catalogue of United Nations(UN)   
Catalogue of United Nations(UN) documents and publications indexed by the UN Dag Hammarskjöld Library and the Library of the UN Office at Geneva. Also included are commercial publications and other non-UN sources held in the collection of the Dag Hammarskjöld Library. The coverage of UNBISnet is from 1979 onward, however, older documents are being added to the catalogue on a regular basis as a result of retrospective conversion. UNBISnet also provides instant access to a growing number of full text resources in the six official languages of the UN (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish), including resolutions adopted by the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council and the Security Council from 1946 onward.

Digitization of the DFG special collection areas   
The website offers a full-text search over the entire collection or in individual specialist collections. However, all titles can also be accessed via the OPAC of the Bavarian State Library. The integration into specialist virtual libraries is in preparation. 4700 titles from the program segments of the publishers Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht, Wilhelm Fink / Ferdinand Schöningh and Otto Sagner. In a second phase, a further succession of approximately 3 to 5 years will be achieved successively along an agreed moving wall, ie a temporal distance from the current year of appearance. 1750 title digitized.

Afghanistan Digital Library   
The immediate objective of the Afghanistan Digital Library is to retrieve and restore the first sixty years of Afghanistan’s published cultural heritage. The project is collecting, cataloging, digitizing, and making available over the Internet as many Afghan publications from the period 1871–1930 as it is possible to identify and locate.

The NEBIS catalogue  
The NEBIS catalogue lists a total of more than 10.5 million titles (books, series, journals and non-book items). About 140 libraries of universities, universities of applied sciences and arts, and research institutes, as well as specialist libraries, in all the language regions, have joined to form the Network of Libraries and Information Facilities in Switzerland, Netzwerk von Bibliotheken und Informationsstellen in der Schweiz (NEBIS).

University Of Michigan library catalog Mirlyn  
The library catalog, referred to as Mirlyn, enables you to search and browse the University of Michigan Library’s collection of books, journals, audio/video materials, electronic resources and more. It lists materials owned by the University Library (Ann Arbor), Clements Library, Bentley Historical Library, UM Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI), and UM-Flint.

Hong Kong Academic Library Link   
is a project in accelerated resource sharing jointly undertaken by the academic libraries of eight local tertiary institutions. HKALL is a union catalogue allowing the students and staff of the eight partner institutions to search a mega collection of over 8 million titles of monographs (11M+ volumes) held in the eight participating libraries.

The article search function is an easy way to search articles. However, the interfaces of the databases provide more possibilities for limiting searches.

Aalto University Libraries  
Books – TkkBooks database – contains bibliographical records of books, eBooks (with some exceptions), dissertations, conference proceedings and some of the reports and monographs in series in the libraries’ collections. Periodicals – TkkSerials database – contains records of printed journals and other periodicals which are currently or have been previously subscribed to by the libraries. Electronic journals can be accessed via the Nelli search portal.

Index Scriptorium Estoniae (ISE)

Estonian research libraries ESTER
