The Higher Education Research and Development Survey, successor to the Survey of Research and Development Expenditures at Universities and Colleges, is the primary source of information on R&D expenditures at U.S. colleges and universities. The survey collects information on R&D expenditures by field of research and source of funds and also gathers information on types of research and expenses and headcounts of R&D personnel. The survey is an annual census of institutions that expended at least $150,000 in separately budgeted R&D in the fiscal year.

Bibliographic Agency for Higher Education, France   
ABES was created in 1994 to implement Sudoc (Système Universitaire de Documentation), the union catalogue of France’s higher education libraries. Sudoc opened in 2001 and has proved a resounding success. It covers the collections of 1 419 “deployed” or member libraries along with the 1,793 public or private libraries from the Sudoc-PS network which specialises in referencing serial publications.

EDFacts Homeless, Neglected, or Delinquent, 2011-12  
annually collects cross-sectional data from states about homeless students and students who are participating in programs for neglected or delinquent students (“N or D”) under Title I, Part D of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended. EDFacts HND:2011-12 data were collected using the EDFacts Submission System (ESS), a centralized portal and their submissions by states in mandatory and required for benefits.

Flint [Michigan] Adolescent Study (FAS): A Longitudinal Study of School Dropout and Substance Use, 1994-1997  
The Flint Adolescent Study (FAS) interviewed 850 ninth graders in the four public high schools of Flint, MI. The study was conducted in collaboration with the Projects for Urban and Regional Affairs and Flint Community Schools. The goal of the study was to explore the protective factors associated with school dropout and alcohol and substance use. The study followed the youths for four years beginning in the Fall of 1994. The sample reflected the overall student body in the Flint high schools. In order to study those students most at risk for leaving school before graduation, individuals with grade point averages of 3.0 and below were selected.
